Answering Your Questions Part 2 (video)

I had such great response to my call for questions two weeks ago that I had to do a second video to get them all answered. Thank you to everyone who emailed the special address I sent out to email subscribers, it was great hearing from you! Stay tuned because I’ll send out another call for questions and a link to that email address again soon! In this video I explain why I don’t make that email address public – to keep it free from spam and make it easier for me to actually see each email sent. I hope you find time to sit down for a little chat today and I hope the information contained in this video proves helpful.

Have a great day!

Facebook is the least reliable as it shows my updates to less than 1% of folks there so I am beginning to cater more to my email subscribers since I know they get what I send.

  1. Love the videos. I don’t always watch videos – especially ones posted on FB, but I make it a point to watch any video that you post. 🙂 I’ve always loved that you are just as real with us as I’m sure you are in person. I love hearing about your successes, but I’m glad that you don’t hide your flaws and struggles because that means you are “just like us” – a normal mom, not a celebrity on a pedestal.
Thank you for taking the time to “visit” with us – I always always enjoy it!
I’m thinking of trying out those loose meat sandwiches since you went “on and on” about them. 😉
I’m really hoping to like them – especially since you said they are nothing like sloppy joes, which I just don’t care for (anyone but me just not like soggy bread??).

      1. We had them last night. I had to cut the recipe down when I made them because 3# would have been a LOT for us (it was just my 8 year old and me last night!) so I hope they came out as good as the full recipe! But they were delicious and my picky 8 year old gobbled up 2 of them – which doesn’t sound like a lot, but for him it was pretty miraculous. 🙂 You were absolutely correct – they were nothing like sloppy joes and my bread was not soggy at all (WIN!). I had mine with mustard and my boy had his with ketchup. Obviously, he’s not a purist, but I’m just excited he ate what I made. He can have them however he will eat them! LOL And even better, I’ve got enough leftover for a quick dinner for us tonight.

        1. I know EXACTLY what you mean!!! My ten year old NEVER eats burgers of any kind and you’d just as soon get her to eat a live toad as to even touch a sloppy joe. But when I was cooking these she said “what is that smell? It smells wonderful!” So I just shrugged and acted like it was normal for her to be interested in new foods and said “It’s these new sandwiches I’m working on, do you want to try one?”. She ended up eating two as well and it was all I could do not to fall over in shock!

  2. Made your Broccoli Salad in your cookbook “Southern Plate,” *again* (p. 17, know that by memory). I know I’ve taken the time to tell you before this time, but we absolutely love this salad. It is just sooooo good, so awesome, and can’t get enough it.
Well, that’s it, I just dropped in here to find the nearest blank spot to say this. Hope you have a great rest of January. 😀

  3. I just watched your second video of questions, right after printing out the Loose Meat Sandwiches recipe. I love that you talk to us like we are sitting with you at your kitchen table.

I am probably older than your mom but that doesn’t mean I don’t still have to prepare meals. I want to try the sandwiches. They may work as refreshments for after my husband’s lodge meetings. We will do a test run here at home first and I will let you know what happens.

Keep up the good work. You are an inspiration.

I get your e-mails but I don’t remember seeing your special e-mail address for questions.

How can I check to be sure I am on the right e-mail list?

    1. Thank you for watching Carol Ann!! I had the e-mail address in a newsletter that went out on a Monday a couple of weeks ago. I will be sending it out again soon with another call for questions, so be on the look-out! I don’t post the address in comments or on social media anywhere because I have found that as soon as I do I get inundated with spam, this way I am actually able to see the e-mails that come in.

  4. Hi Christy, I just wanted to say Hi, and thank you for being you. I’m from TN but met you in Columbia SC. I was there (my family all still live there) because my father was in the hospital.
When I saw you were doing a book signing there I came to see you and you were so sweet to
me and said things that helped my heart. It’s never easy loosing a parent even when your
older yourself. But you gave me a reprieve from the stress and made me feel better. I don’t think
you can know how a few kind words can change a persons feelings at any moment, but you
sure lifted me up. Actually you do know that but I wanted everyone else to know that you practice what you preach….so to speak..lol. So thanks again.
I love your posts and now your videos and look forward to more recipes in the future. Your
videos make me laugh too. Getting cooking advice with a side of humor…who doesn’t like that?
I know I do. Keep them coming.

  5. Christy, you are a hoot! I haven’t seen one of your videos before but watching this one makes me realize that you are just a down-to-earth, normal, hard-working mom. So many of the things you have covered in this video are things that I do, so you have validated my way of life. Keep on, keepin’ on. I’ll be a subscriber until you quit.

  6. Christy, I enjoy your video chats…even with the phone beeps & all. Very informative and entertaining. I’ve gotten a little off on buying those extras especially when they are on sale. Thanks for the reminder to get back at. Have a great rest of the week.

  7. Hey Christy…I just finished watching your second video and enjoyed it so much. I’ve had a lot of years of cooking under my belt and loved the advice to the young mother running around like a crazy woman while working and raising her children. You gave very good advice about having a well stocked pantry. Long before the Internet, I had a mom who was a master at putting a meal on the table quickly. Only difference..she was a planner cause we had a BIG family. Also loved the advice to the person who was dieting and trying to lose weight. It is so important to realize that you are way more than a number on a scale! Sorry this is so long..best wishes always. Bonnie
