Crock Pot Beef Ribs (Tender and Delicious)
Learn to make flavorful, fall-apart tender crock pot beef ribs!
These slow cooker beef ribs are the perfect recipe for fall-off-the-bone tender ribs. The best part is, you can enjoy them with your family without heating up the kitchen or standing over a grill.
One of my favorite ways to slow cook meat is by using a combination of bottled barbecue sauce, fresh lemon, fresh onion, and a bottle or can of Coca Cola. Yep, coke is my secret ingredient! Each ingredient plays a key role in tenderizing and infusing the meat with flavor and the blend of the four together is finger-licking good.
Of course, being able to toss and go makes this an even better recipe. Throw it in before you head out for the day and have a barbecue feast waiting when you come home! But if you wanted to make them in the oven, here is my recipe for oven-baked baby back ribs.
Super easy and melt-in-your-mouth tenderness. What more could you want, right? If you’re on the hunt for more easy slow cooker recipes to enjoy, this post features 13 slow cooker recipes to get you started!
Recipe Ingredients
- Country beef ribs (or ribs of your choice)
- Bottle of barbecue sauce
- Onion
- Can or bottle of Coca Cola
- Lemon
How to Make Crock Pot Beef Ribs
Place the ribs in the bottom of a 6-quart slow cooker. Pour the barbecue sauce over (reserve about 1/2 cup). Pour the coke over. Toss in the lemon and onion.
(As long as your ribs will easily fit in this slow cooker, the number of ingredients are the same).
Cook this on low for 7-8 hours or high for 3-4 hours.
I prefer to go on the longer end of cooking time so that the meat is extra tender. So for me, that would be low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.
Serve with reserved bbq sauce for dipping or topping.
Yum! There is so much flavor in this fall-apart tender beef!
Enjoy! I like to serve these with my perfect roasted vegetables to keep the meal low fuss and delicious.
Storage
- Store leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge for up to 5 days. You can either reheat in the microwave or oven.
- You can also freeze leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3 months. Thaw overnight in the fridge before following the above reheating instructions.
Recipe Notes
- If you like, you can caramelize your bbq ribs under the broiler in your oven after slow cooking. It only takes a few minutes, but this will ensure they’re nice and caramelized before serving. However, this step isn’t necessary. You can also put them on the grill for a few minutes too, if you prefer.
- For more spice, add a tablespoon of cayenne pepper.
- To make this an even easier recipe without unnecessary clean-up, use a slow cooker liner in your crockpot. You can find them in your grocery store where you get the aluminum foil and plastic bags.
- If you prefer Dr. instead of Coca Cola, you can totally use a can of that instead.

Congratulations! You not crying just shows what a strong bond you have and that you are confident that he chose the best place to be!
Can you use diet cola? I am doing Keto and have sugar-free BBQ sauce, but prefer not to use sugary soda.
Whew! I am glad I am not the only mother that did not cry! We moved our baby to college a couple of weeks ago. It was hard to leave but we did it. We miss her dearly, so much that we are having a girls weekend in a couple of days. Lol!
Having read most of your post for the past several years I would have expected nothing less of Brady’s proud parents. He has been lead by Godly parents and you have assurance from your Heavenly Father that he won’t step out of His will. Beautiful.
What a sweet story! My husband and I took our only child to college last year. I really thought I’d cry but didn’t. I kept reminding myself, this is what you want for you child. It was a really happy day. We said goodbye to him again a few weeks ago as he started his second year. Once again, no tears! I just kept reminding myself of the quote below.
“There are only two lasting bequests we can hope to give our children. One of these is roots; the other, wings.”

You are a strong momma!! We moved our daughter into her first apartment and now she is at the school she wanted since she was about 10. I can’t say I didn’t cry when we drove off . When we drove about a block away we got a phone call from her because she didn’t know how to turn on her shower. It is a weird one so we had to turn back. I couldn’t go back in so her dad did and then all was well. I am so excited for her and love to watch her find her way and shine. It is a answer to prayer for sure. I also have enjoyed your instragram posts too about Brady. Hope he has the best time of his life.
I saw a comment just this week. It said, “A good mother works herself out of a job.” I thought how true that is.
Ah yes! I remember taking my only child to college. My husband was concerned that I would cry rivers when I had to leave her. But, instead, I was overcome by excitement for her opportunity. Proud of her and so, so happy for her! No tears! But- my sweet husband wiped tears from his cheeks for the first 30 minutes of our drive home. Bless him. It took him completely by surprise. Ah, such tenderness. Thanks for sharing your story with us.
Oh Sherry, bless you for sharing this with me. It was a blessing to read!
