Biscuit Class – Classic 3 Ingredient Biscuits

Good Morning! Last weekend I got together with a few of my friends who claimed they couldn’t make good biscuits and taught them how to make three different kinds! Everyone’s biscuits turned out beautifully and the great news is that my husband recorded the whole thing so I can bring my Biscuit Classes here to you, as well.

This is the first time we’ve done something like this so there are kinks to work out, of course, but I think this first effort turned out pretty good. We hope to purchase another camera before recording the next series of classes, so you can see my friends off camera more throughout the class. All in all, I think the video makes you feel like you are there, which, for me, is the next best thing to actually having you there :).

  2. O.K. I made homemade biscuits FOR THE FIRST TIME EVER! My four year old grandson helped (he did get flour all over himself, but said that “he’s a baking man”). They were super easy, actually made them last night for a quick breakfast for dinner. I grew up in New York and we never made homemade biscuits LOL.

    I forgot to sour the milk and it still came out fine.

    I’m putting this in my regular repertoire (that’s a big up north word). 🙂

  4. What a fantastic idea. I have always hesitated to try baking biscuits from scratch, but with just 3 ingredients I think that it will be hard for even a novice like me to screw it up. Watching someone do it before I try makes it much easier. More classes please!

  5. Thank you for explaining the “peas”! For years I have wondered what in the world that meant! I loved the video. I felt like you were right here in my kitchen teaching me all the tricks. My family will be so excited to have biscuits! They’ll probably feel like they woke up in a Cracker Barrel!!

  6. Thanks for sharing. I will make these very soon. I remember both my mom and grandmother making biscuits–never measuring, just pouring. I also remember a “stand of lard” and a “clabber jar”. Is anyone else familiar with those two items? Good memories!
