But you know what else is right around the corner? It’s time to start thinking about our Halloween and Harvest costumes! I’ve recently been introduced to a wonderful company called Sensational Beginnings. They are a toy company that offers educational toys, that stimulate the imagination, the mind, and the senses!I don’t know about you, but if I had a dime for every time I spent money on plastic toys that barely outlived the life of the cardboard box they came in, I’d be a wealthy woman today!
I love the toys at Sensational Beginnings and I know you and your child will, too.
As a special offer JUST to Southern Plate readers,
Sensational Beginnings is offering a 10% Discount on all orders over $75.00 through September 20th, at 11:59 PM.
To get this exclusive discount, enter the code SOUTHERNPLATE at checkout. Click here to shop.
I always like to start buying Christmas the moment fall hits and I get it a little at a time to make it more budget friendly, so this is a great opportunity for you to do that.
They also have an EXTENSIVE Costume department. Katy Rose was thrilled when she first laid eyes on this pink super girl costume:
We rounded it out with the Strawberry Shortcake Wig. Of course is Super Girl is Super, it only stands to reason that she’d have pink hair (according to my Katy Rose).
Bradybug will be going the Deluxe Iron Man route this year…
Even though I REALLY tried to talk him into this one – if it was in my size I’d soooooooo be wearing it!
In addition to offering us an exclusive discount code, Sensational Beginnings is also offering an exclusive giveaway!

My favorite childhood toy my my Cathy Quick Curl doll. She had the cutest dresses & mary janes but my fav thig about her was her long blond hair (with these strands wthin it that were more like soft wires & they helped really hold a curl). I had mousy brown hair cut in a page boy with no way to syle it differently so my Cathy doll was a treasure to me. I would spend hours fixin her hair different ways, pretending it was me. Aw, what memories. <3
I shared link on FB and put down my favorite Christmas toy so I hope that was the right way to enter on FB.
I loved my Barbie townhouse! I thought it was the coolest thing ever ;>)
The best Christmas I remember as a child was when I was about seven years old. My two sisters and I had been told that Santa wasn’t going to be bringing a lot that year. I remember waking up on Christmas morning to a living room FULL of everything three little girls could want AND the kitchen had been filled with food. I just knew that Jesus had listened to my prayers and told Santa to bring us all that he had. What I didn’t learn until I was older was that our church had come together and made sure that our family was blessed that year. I think the best thing that anyone can learn is that blessings are given when we forget ourselves and serve others.
Ann, and this story is still a blessing to all of us today. Thank you for sharing it. Really drives it home. I hope we can all find the resources to be an answer to someone’s prayer this Christmas.
Gratefully,
Christy
I loved the long hair Chrissy doll!
My son’s favorite toy used to be anything hot wheels/cars/construction/truck related. But now that he’s 10, he prefers the Wii (sports resort is his favorite game).
I received “Happy Baby” for Christmas one year, loved, Loved, LOVED that baby and till this day, every time I hear a baby laugh, I think of it.
The next year I received a doll that played a lullaby and moved it’s head so that when you laid it down, the baby slowly moved on the bed.
My daughter never got into dolls, she loved sports, still does and is expecting her first child (a boy!) in Jan. of 2011. 🙂 She has made me so proud in everything she has done, and this just adds to the list. She was in the gifted in school, and I am sure we will be shopping at SENSATIONAL BEGINNINGS for all occasions! Thanks for the link-up!
