But you know what else is right around the corner? It’s time to start thinking about our Halloween and Harvest costumes! I’ve recently been introduced to a wonderful company called Sensational Beginnings. They are a toy company that offers educational toys, that stimulate the imagination, the mind, and the senses!I don’t know about you, but if I had a dime for every time I spent money on plastic toys that barely outlived the life of the cardboard box they came in, I’d be a wealthy woman today!
I love the toys at Sensational Beginnings and I know you and your child will, too.
As a special offer JUST to Southern Plate readers,
Sensational Beginnings is offering a 10% Discount on all orders over $75.00 through September 20th, at 11:59 PM.
To get this exclusive discount, enter the code SOUTHERNPLATE at checkout. Click here to shop.
I always like to start buying Christmas the moment fall hits and I get it a little at a time to make it more budget friendly, so this is a great opportunity for you to do that.
They also have an EXTENSIVE Costume department. Katy Rose was thrilled when she first laid eyes on this pink super girl costume:
We rounded it out with the Strawberry Shortcake Wig. Of course is Super Girl is Super, it only stands to reason that she’d have pink hair (according to my Katy Rose).
Bradybug will be going the Deluxe Iron Man route this year…
Even though I REALLY tried to talk him into this one – if it was in my size I’d soooooooo be wearing it!
In addition to offering us an exclusive discount code, Sensational Beginnings is also offering an exclusive giveaway!
TEN Lucky Southern Plate Family Members

I loved Barbie! I have 2 boys so I didnt get to continue my love for Barbie play. I still go down the Barbie isle and picture the things they have today to play with. I made my Barbie house out of Chairs. I used any household item to make furniture and beds. A car for Babs was a Tonka truck. The only accessories I had was a few clothes and a little plastic telephone. I still have every bit of it stored away. I had so much fun even if I never had the Barbie Dream House! My favorite toy was Baby Chrissy. I loved her. You could pull a string and make her beautiful, shiny, red hair long or short. I took her everywhere. Even the bath and she turned green. My mom told me she had to go to the doctor to get fixed. Lo and behold, she came back all green-free in a special box at Christmas. I bought it hook line and sinker until I found my old Chrissy on the washer. Wish I still had her. http://crissyandbeth.com/babycrissy.html
My most cherished toy was my Roy Rogers Bouncy Horse “TRIGGER” –the miles we rode together and the jumping we could do on the hardwood floor–memories are the squeaking springs and my cowgirl hat lookin so fine!!
I would have to say my Raggedy Ann doll! I have all of mine in a box in the attic, hopefully to be loved by a granddaughter some day! Puts a smile on my face anytime I see one!! I usually give one as a new baby girl gift!
Thanks for this giveaway and the walk down Memory Lane!
My favorite toy was jacks!!!
I love reminiscing…sooo….my favorite toy as a child was my Mrs. Beasley doll. Am I telling my age by saying that? Oh well, i still liked her.
