It’s that time of year again.

Cotton is in bloom…

Apples are being picked

and the last bit of summer is ours for the taking!

and MAYBE sharing.. 🙂

But you know what else is right around the corner? It’s time to start thinking about our Halloween and Harvest costumes! I’ve recently been introduced to a wonderful company called Sensational Beginnings. They are a toy company that offers educational toys, that stimulate the imagination, the mind, and the senses!I don’t know about you, but if I had a dime for every time I spent money on plastic toys that barely outlived the life of the cardboard box they came in, I’d be a wealthy woman today!

I love the toys at Sensational Beginnings and I know you and your child will, too.

As a special offer JUST to Southern Plate readers,

Sensational Beginnings is offering a 10% Discount on all orders over $75.00 through September 20th, at 11:59 PM.

To get this exclusive discount, enter the code SOUTHERNPLATE at checkout. Click here to shop.

I always like to start buying Christmas the moment fall hits and I get it a little at a time to make it more budget friendly, so this is a great opportunity for you to do that.

They also have an EXTENSIVE Costume department. Katy Rose was thrilled when she first laid eyes on this pink super girl costume:

We rounded it out with the Strawberry Shortcake Wig. Of course is Super Girl is Super, it only stands to reason that she’d have pink hair (according to my Katy Rose).

Bradybug will be going the Deluxe Iron Man route this year…

Even though I REALLY tried to talk him into this one – if it was in my size I’d soooooooo be wearing it!

In addition to offering us an exclusive discount code, Sensational Beginnings is also offering an exclusive giveaway!

TEN Lucky Southern Plate Family Members

  1. Favorite toy had to the rock’em sock’em robots in the 70’s.Every saturday during cartoons they would run that commercial and drive me crazy (along with my parents I’m sure) but finally got one around the age of 10 and loved it.

  2. My favorite toy as a child was the “skip-it”….remember the commercial? -” skip-it, skip-it” I loved that thing. That was the best form of exercise and entertainment for a 7 year old girl. I wish they still made them, I would definitely buy it for my daughter if I could find it!

  3. My favorite toys were Barbie dolls! I’d play every day with them and beg my mom to play with me!

  4. My favorite toy as a child was actually my sisters toy! It was a doll with long blond hair that you could make her hair grow or shorten it by turning this little dial on her back. It was a “Velvet” doll. My sister would keep the doll and her doll clothes in a small, hard case suitcase. She would always threaten me and tell me I better not touch it. Little did she know , every time she would go spend the night with a friend, I would bee-line straight for Velvet. My sister still has that doll to this day…and she’s….well, we will say “forty-something!” She still wont let me play with it either!!!!!!!

  5. I think my best Christmas I got a whole bunch of Shaun Cassidy stuff and I loved him! I had the jacket, the pants, the guitar, the doll, a locket. My daughter loved dolls, stuffed animals, and horses. My son loves military stuff and spy stuff – he is all boy!

  6. Easy! My favorite toy was easily my Snoopy Snow Cone maker! I loved it. I can still remember the plastic smell of it. It made me the coolest kid on the block.
