This is prime cucumber salad season for us and there is just nothing like a refreshing cold salad as the perfect side dish to any summer meal. I combined some of my favorite flavors to make this Greek version of a classic. Simple, natural, healthy, and guilt-free, you’ll want to make this soon… and often!

This is a quick and easy Greek cucumber salad, which is another added bonus. All you need is cucumbers, cherry tomatoes, sliced red onion, crumbled feta, olive oil, lemon juice, and oregano. The instructions are as simple as the ingredients. Just pop them all in a mixing bowl and toss them to combine. That’s all there is to it.

Ingredients for Greek Cucumber Salad

Recipe Ingredients

  • English cucumbers
  • Cherry or grape tomatoes
  • Red onion
  • Crumbled feta
  • Olive oil
  • Bottled or fresh lemon juice
  • Oregano
  • Salt and pepper to taste

How to Make Greek Cucumber Salad

Place chopped veggies in mixing bowl.

Chop up your cucumber, slice your onion, and cut your tomatoes in half.

Place all of this in a large bowl. 

Add remaining ingredients.

Add olive oil, lemon juice, and seasonings. 

Toss salad to combine then refrigerate.

Stir well to combine.

Cover this and refrigerate until chilled. 

Top salad with feta before serving.

Top with crumbled feta cheese before serving.

Ingredients

  • 2 cups cherry or grape tomatoes, sliced in half
  • 3 cucumbers, peeled and chopped
  • 1/2 red onion, sliced
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh or bottled lemon juice
  • 1 teaspoon dried oregano
  • salt and pepper to taste (I use about 1/4 teaspoon to start)
  • 1 cup crumbled feta for topping

Instructions

  • In a large bowl, combine tomatoes, cucumber, and onion. Add oil, lemon juice, oregano, and salt and pepper to taste. Stir well to combine.
    2 cups cherry or grape tomatoes, sliced in half, 3 cucumbers, peeled and chopped, 1/2 red onion, sliced, 1/4 cup olive oil, 1 tablespoon fresh or bottled lemon juice, 1 teaspoon dried oregano, salt and pepper to taste (I use about 1/4 teaspoon to start)
  • Cover and place in the fridge for several hours for flavors to intermingle (we don't want to say married because they hardly know one another).
  • Before serving, top with feta. Enjoy!
    1 cup crumbled feta for topping

  1. This looks so good. It’s something my husband would have tried minus the oregano. He was not a fan of oregano so I quit putting it in my spaghetti sauce. He passed away earlier this month two days shy of his 56th birthday. I will have to make it and think of him.

    Christy, as always, your recipe looks fabulous. When I make this, I think I’ll add some sliced Kalamata olives (or even black olives or green olives) and maybe some sliced peperoncini peppers as well! Either way, I’m sure this recipe will taste fabulous!

  4. I make a variation of this – no feta. Chop onions, cukes, and tomatoes and cover with Italian dressing. Sometimes even add green pepper. Quick, refreshing side. But will try your lemon juice, olive oil and oregano next time.
