Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort & Spa is The Perfect Family Getaway!

When the kids were younger, we didn’t really enjoy going to the ocean. They were young, we were young, and we were so used to having full schedules that we tended to plan our vacations that way as well.

And then, the kids got older and we finally got it. The beach is for relaxing. I think it was that first trip with the kids in which we all got up early to watch the sun rise over the beach that made it click for us – and made an annual beach trip move to the top of our “must do” list.

The last thing we want to do to start out our vacation is spend days getting there, so we like to stick closer to home if possible. With that in mind, today I am sharing a true gem with you, an all inclusive beach resort just a hop, skip, and a jump from the coast of Alabama. This is a family resort with all of the amenities of luxury for adults and all of the fun for families and kids: Hilton Sandestin Beach Golf Resort and Spa.

Your stay can be as low key and casual as you like, or you can fill it with dinner at their on-site AAA Four Diamond Restaurant, Seagars Prime Steaks & Seafood, and trips to their full service hotel spa, Serenity By The Sea.

This was the first time I have ever been to a spa in my life and, wow. I have never been so relaxed in my life! My favorite part is that you can park your car and never have to leave the property if you like.

The beaches are pristine and white and the hotel is as relaxing as they come, with every need a few steps from your door. 

The outdoor pools have lots of room for relaxing as well as cabanas but my favorite part is that there is a grill and ice cream shop poolside, Picnix. You can get it yourself or place an order with an attendant and have it brought to you.

Hilton says: Guests can now choose from nine gourmet hot dog options, ranging from a German Dog with sauerkraut, onions and stone mustard, to a Greek Dog with feta cheese, Kalamata olives, onions, tomatoes and tzatziki sauce. Other options include the Philly Dog, Chicago Dog, BLT Dog and more. In addition to the new Dog House menu, Picnix will also serve up fresh fruit smoothies, ice cream and soft-serve yogurt, draft beer and classic “on-the-go” items, like the Picnix Club Sandwich or the Italian Beach Club Sandwich.

Oooh and there is a wonderful coffee bar, The Coffee Shop, that I hit up each morning, as well as shops to linger in while you sip your coffee.

I alternated between lingering in the coffee shop or lingering in the lobby. I’m always an early riser so it was great to be able to get started on my day without waking everyone else.

Once they get going, the hotel offers a wonderful breakfast buffet at Sandcastles each morning with any type of breakfast selection you could imagine. There is a large dining area near it and a more private dining area towards the back of this room. All of the food and drinks we had during our stay were excellent.

For parents who would like to have a little time to relax on the beach as a couple, they also offer a day and night time Kids Krew program for kids ages 5-12. Kids Krew is a supervised program taking place in the mornings and evenings, offering a range of exciting activities for kids, including safari hunts, a camping adventure, karaoke, creative crafts, and more.
