Another question people ask me is …
Is shredded meat different than pulled meat?
And the answer is no. Shredded meat and pulled meat are truly the same, just different words to described what you are doing. So that’s why this tutorial on shredding meat can be used for any of your pulled meat recipes.
Below are just a few recipes that use shredded or pulled meat to inspire you!

Great Idea!! Thanks
🙂
That was too cool! Thanks for sharing such a great tip! Love the video – much more fun to hear you talk than to just read your posts! Thanks!
LOL, so glad you enjoyed it Vicki!
My son and his wife discovered this using my Kitchenaid mixer a few months ago. I tried it with chicken breasts and it just whomped the breasts to itty bitty pieces. They weren’t shredded – it was like they were chopped so fine they were almost powder – and I had the paddle blade turned on a MUCH shorter time than you did.
Also…what about the fat in the beef? Do you pick it out later?
Thanks!
That has never happened to me, your stand mixer may be more powerful and need to be on the lowest setting. Also, your meat needs to be hot. that is very important.
Just tried today with a roast I made in crockpot yesterday. Turned to paste, I guess because it’ wasn’t hot. I watched the video with the sound muted so I missed that point. Doh! Also, I have the KitchenAid so it may be more powerful? Trying to crisp it up in the oven now on a lined baking sheet.
Love this site
