January Archives 2008-[year]

family bridges

Good Morning! Today I thought I’d pull together all of my posts from past Januarys on SouthernPlate.com and put them in one convenient place for you should anyone want to catch up or see what they might have missed. I’m planning on doing this with each month as it arrives throughout the year so stay tuned and make sure you subscribe by email to avoid missing anything. Meanwhile, If you’re hankering for something new or even familiar tastes from the old days, you’re sure to find it on this list.

I look forward to chatting with you in the comments so be sure and drop a “hidy” if you’ve got the time!

Gratefully,

If any of the links don’t work, that is a mistake on my part and I’ll try to get it fixed as soon as I’m aware of it. Please let me know in the comments and then use the search box in the top right hand corner of SouthernPlate (beneath the title area) to search for the recipe by name.

  1. Christy,
Thanks for all of your great recipes and Southern wit. We discovered you when my husband decided he wanted REAL banana pudding like his Mama made. He Googled it and PRESTO! There was your recipe accompanied by your great dialogue of instructions. We laughed aloud throughout our first reading of this recipe. You are our “Go-To Girl” now. If we want a recipe, we check your’s first. Thanks!

  3. Hi Christy 🙂 Thank you for your wonderful recipes!
My question is, “Do you have any advice on converting your recipes from the stove to a pressure cooker?”

  4. its not free…but its has been the best way for me to save recipes. I feel I have received the ability to save and back up… all the recipes I will ever want. I have had no issues. I’ve paid for many things in my 64 years. It just works for me. Paprika Recipe Manager. google it. Thank you Christy for your great. great southern wisdom and recipes…

  5. Thanks for all the great recipes, Christy. Can’t wait for your new book to add to your other two in my collection. I love reading your stories, they make me think and smile. Making Sticky Chicken tonight fir supper, mmmmm.

  6. Hi, Christy! Love the family photo! Love your recipes and your common sense way of doing things.
My question is….. Will there ever be another “zip list” way of saving our favorites on Southern Plate? I miss it.
Thanks for being my breath of fresh air, every time I get an e-mail from you.

    1. Hey and thank you!
I’ve looked into options and so far the only reliable ones are things that y’all would have to pay to use. Since you don’t pay for Southern Plate, it doesn’t make sense to me for you to have to pay for a service in order to save southernplate recipes. I’m keeping my ears open, though, and if something becomes available that I feel I can trust (so they won’t do us all like Ziplist did), I’ll sure implement it to make saving recipes easier for everyone. In the meantime, I appreciate you sticking it out with me!
