Kindergarten Field Trip

Just thought I’d share a few photos from Katy Rose’s kindergarten field trip to a farm today. The odd thing for us was that this farm was just a few minutes from my Papa Reed’s farm! I had hoped to get to leave and go spend some time there after it was done but the school we’re at now doesn’t allow you to sign kids out after the field trip is over so Katy had to ride the bus back to school.

The good thing is, I was in my car with a few other moms and since the bus is slow, we got to get ahead of them enough to hit the Starbucks drive through on the way home! That lady was SO GOOD with reciting our order, I asked her to do it again for video ~giggle~ See below to watch it!

Katy Rose on the nature walk

The woods are so beautiful in Alabama this time of year.

She really loved petting the horses. I thought she’d be scared of them but she was a natural

This horse is licking my coat

Now he is trying to eat my coat.

I just realized I had raisins in my pockets. Maybe he is a raisin loving horse? He kept licking me and licking me

Okay, thanks for all the lovin’ horse, we gotta be going now before you start eating my hair…

Ooh my legs look skinny in this picture!!!

Katy Rose and her mom…oh wait, that would be me 🙂

Katy Rose said the cutest thing to one of her friends as we were walking around on the farm. “You don’t have to call my Mama Mrs Jordan, you can just call her Ma. That’s what I call her and even my brother calls her that too!”

hehehe

I’m not putting a lot of the photos from the field trip because I don’t want to put photos of other people’s kids up here without permission. We watched a horse getting new shoes, visited the sheep and cows, went on a nature walk, saw some animal prints in the mud, had a little time fishing, and watched a horse demonstration. Then we had a picnic and by that time we were all flat worn out! 🙂 It was a great day though and I’m really grateful I had the opportunity to go and share that with Katy Rose.

Okay now here is the video from Starbucks. Warning, I laugh REALLY LOUD at the end!

I warned you I laughed loud at the end!

Thanks for going on the field trip with us! Have a great Friday!

  1. Loved the Starbucks video. LAUGHTER IS THE BEST MEDICINE. It doesn’t matter if it’s loud, soft, with tears, or without. Just keep on laughing. xoxo

  2. Thank you for reminding me of the many times my mother went on school field trips with my sister and me. I remember one time a field trip of ours was canceled due to bad weather. My mom ran home, baked 3 different types of cookies, and ran back to serve them to a class full of sad 3rd graders. I was so surprised and so proud of my mom for saving the day. Thanks for trip down memory lane.

  3. Thanks for inviting us to Katie Rose’s field trip! I miss going on them, maybe when my grandson (due in February) starts school!!

  4. I love to take my students on field trips! Since I teach culinary arts, we usually go to trade shows or some sort of foodservice operation where they can work with the chefs….and we always eat really good too!

  5. The field trip brings back lots of memories-wonderful memories!!
I love Katy Rose’s precious comment to call you, “Ma.”
She is such a little doll! Thanks for sharing.
