Muddy Diet Dr Pepper
It would be awesome beyond belief if you could pin this Muddy Diet Dr Pepper to your pinterest boards!
Public Declaration time: I’ve become an addict. Alright, I Can live without it but I don’t want to!
It all started when I made friends with these two sweet ladies who share my love of fun non-alcoholic drinks. We ended up in the middle of a cherry orchard in Michigan at a lovely dinner where they were serving all manner of rotted grape juices and as I came up with a concoction of lemonade and cherry juice for us we got to talking about other lovely mixed drinks and Sara and Kate asked me “Have you tried the dirty diet coke?”
My interest was piqued. Dirty Diet Coke? I knew they didn’t drink either so it had to be something good. As soon as I got home I looked it up on their site and set out to make my own version- using Diet Dr Pepper! (Y’all saw that coming, right?)
But then I got to the part where Sara added in half and half and I thought “This just sounds odd. I don’t know if that would be good.”
Two seconds later I vowed to trust anything Sara or Kate say for the rest of my life.
While they splash their half and half in, I’ve found that I like everything better if I give it a little stir and muddy the whole thing up.
Muddy Diet Dr Pepper was born!
This is the next best thing to having fairies clean your house while you sleep!
It’s like a trip to the beach for under a dollar!
It’s like a personal, warm hug directly from Heaven to Diet Dr Pepper lovers everywhere!
Let’s make us one!
You’ll need: Coconut Syrup (I’m using sugar free), Diet Dr Pepper, and Half and Half.
The Half and half makes this, in my opinion. It sounded really weird to me at first (okay so this whole thing sounded weird to me at first) but Sara was right, half and half takes it up a notch.
I found the coconut syrup on Amazon (click here) but I’m sure it is for sale somewhere in some store.
If you know where this is please tell me in the comments below because I’d kinda like to know.
Fill your glass with ice.
Add about 3 tablespoons of coconut syrup.
Add about half of your Diet Dr Pepper.
Stir just slightly.
Fill the glass up almost to the top with Diet Dr Pepper, save about 1 inch of head space.
Add a splash of half and half.
Stir lightly to muddy it all up.
ENJOY!
And I do mean ENJOY!
This tastes unlike anything I’ve ever known and I dearly love it!

They have syrups at Dollar Tree too. They have vanilla, caramel, and hazelnut. I use them in my iced coffee, smoothies, and sodas. They are sugar free too! You could kill two birds with one stone and just use coconut milk in your Dr. Pepper. 🙂
Remember the TV show “Laverne and Shirley”? Laverne would put milk in her Coke. I
Hi…I am in Indiana, Kentucky area…GFS always has a nice selection of syrups… 🙂
Christy, you’re so sweet! I just read your reply to Nancy. You are a refreshing change from the short answer folk out there. I see Christ’s love shining from your every word.
Mmm, this sounds right up there with your Egg Creams, Yum!
Hey Christy, this sounds like a winner to me. I’m not really a coconut fan, but another reader posted about trying it with amaretto, and I’m all for that!
Just pinned it.
BTW, got my Southern Plate Classics the end of last week, and it’s amazing!

Boy howdy that sounds good. Since my BF is a diet Sunkist addict, I might try it with Diet Sunkist, vanilla syrup, and half and half.
I have often seen a variety of these flavored syrups at TJ Maxx, Marshalls or Home Goods. Finding the flavor you want is hit-or miss. I love diet Dr. Pepper! (but I still think I’d vote for the fairies cleaning the house! LOL)
