Recipes to Welcome Summer!
Today I’m sharing some great recipes to whip up as summer approaches. These are favorites of my family and I know they will be in yours, too!
Watermelonade
This recipe takes one of my favorite flavors of summer, amps it up just a bit, and makes it drinkable!
This recipe shows you how to take real, honest to goodness, homemade banana pudding and turn it into a freezer treat that can be ready anytime the need arises!
Crock Pot Hot Dogs from Recipes That Crock
Make hot dogs for a crowd that taste like the ones you buy at fairs!
Fresh Fruit Salad with Honey Lime Dressing from Southern Bite
Fruit is taken up a notch with a lightly sweetened dressing, perfect for your next party – or afternoon on the porch!
Honey Soy Grilled Chicken Thighs from Mommy’s Kitchen are a flavorful and budget friendly recipe for the grill!
So many of the flavors that are near and dear to a Southerner’s heart are combined into this remarkable dish!
Picnic Pasta Salad from South Your Mouth
I love a cold pasta salad on a hot day. This one is a classic, filled with fresh flavors, and using a bottled dressing makes it come together in a wink!
I make this with canned peaches during the winter months but as soon as fresh peaches come in, I can hardly wait to make it with those!
Cherry Limeade from The Country Cook
Another great refresher! I love having a “special” drink when company calls!
Sorry to hear you were so sick. However, glad to learn you’re on the mend and feeling better.
Have a blessed day and stay healthy. ♥
Thank you Judy!

Picnic season also calls for some of those deviled eggs with the red stuff sprinkled on top! I love making your recipe from the Southern Plate cookbook.
Thank you!!

waste of time – crummy.
Hey Phil! I’m so sorry you were confused.
When you click on the link there are instructions in a printable recipe card at the bottom. Maybe you overlooked it? For this post, the author didn’t feel photos were necessary to demonstrate putting weenies in a crock pot. I have the instructions pasted below from her post. If you need my help figuring them out please let me know.
Have a great day!
Instructions pasted from post:
Place hot dogs in slow cooker and close lid.
Cook on low for 3-4 hours or high for 1-2 hours.
This crock pot hot dogs trick is awesome for feeding a crown on a budget! I’ve pulled it out many times to put on a “hot dog bar” for our large family gatherings. It’s a real handy one at kids’ b-day parties and large get-togethers! I personally add beef broth (mix up some bouillon) and a couple drops of liquid smoke to the pot to make my cheap weenies taste even better. 🙂
Great idea Josey, thanks for sharing!!
hey girl these all look so yummy!
