Red, White, and Blue Patriotic Dishes!
Hey, Howdy, Hey, and welcome to a special Patriotic edition of SouthernPlate! With the Fourth coming up, I thought I’d share with you some fun foods we often make to celebrate this fun day with friends and family.
This is one of my go to treats when I want to make something quick and easy that will still dazzle guests!
Cake Pops and Cake Truffles are still all the rage! These come together so fast and look extra pretty on the dessert table!
Red, White, and Blue Spritzers
The layers remain separated as you drink this delicious spritzer.
I’ve been making these for years but my family still thinks they’re so cool to see!
Ricky’s Favorite Punch Bowl Cake
This is my husband’s favorite Strawberry Punch Bowl Cake – dressed up with blueberries for the Fourth!
Kids love these layered jello jars – and I love being able to make them days ahead of time! I just keep them in the fridge and bring them out when we’re ready. They travel like a dream, too!
We’ve recently been trying out different types of flavored gelatin. There are a lot of different types on the market!
There is something about a rice krispie treat that takes us back to being a kid again. These pops make them extra special.
I hope you get to enjoy some time with your friends and family this fourth!

Thank you for solving my annual puzzle as to what to send to an Independence Day covered-dish party (which I don’t attend; long story). I see several things here which will sit all day and evening without refrigeration but which will still look and taste good (and which won’t give anyone food poisoning!). All I have to do is pick one. This is a big help!
I like the way Christy thanks everyone and responses to their comments. She seems to really care which is so nice
Thank you Lois!! I really do care, each and every one of my readers means the world to me and are like family!! Hugs and Blessings to you and I hope you have a good day!!
Blessings, Christy – all of your recipes look so yummy and fun to make! Thank you for sharing them!
Thank you Karen, I hope you have a Happy 4th of July celebration. Blessings to you and yours!!
These look really good! I may have to try some of these this week.
I hope you enjoy them Carol!! Have a Happy 4th Celebration!!!
We always did a big celebration for the 4th of July when I was growing up: homemade ice cream, watermelon, and sparklers – with lots of noise makers! I love your red, white and blue ideas!
Thank you Noreen!!
