Over Mother’s Day Weekend we decided to practice the age old tradition of Getting Out Of Dodge and headed to one of our all time favorite cities, Chattanooga, Tennessee.

We try to go there at least once a year and never get tired of it because there is so much to do there! (To see a post from a past day trip, click here)

We could easily spend a full five days and have each day filled with something new to do. We usually go to the Aquarium or Lake Winnie but this time we finally decided to obey the barn roofs and SEE ROCK CITY!

I had not been since I was a little girl and I can honestly tell you that this is now one of my favorite attractions in all of the South.

The natural beauty of it is absolutely breathtaking and we spent a full day there discovering new treasures around every corner.

We met Ricky’s parents there, too, so as an added bonus the kids got to spend the weekend discovering alongside their grandparents.

After that, we also visited Ruby Falls, which everyone really enjoyed.

In the cave headed to Ruby Falls

We do a good bit of cave field trips in the summertime because they are always so nice and cool but you still get to go exploring, but I had not been to Ruby Falls since I was a girl, either, and my family had never been. It was AMAZING!

THIS WAS ONE OF OUR BEST WEEKEND GETAWAYS EVER

SO I WANT TO SHARE THE FUN!

With Summer upon us, I thought I’d give y’all a head start on your summer vacation by giving away ticket packages to some of my FAVORITE Chattanooga Attractions!

THREE WINNERS will each get a Chattanooga Rock City Prize Package, which includes:

  • 4 Tickets to Rock City
  • 4 Tickets to Ruby Falls
  • 4 Tickets to Ride the Incline Railway, America’s steepest railroad
  • 4 Tickets to Battles of Chattanooga Museum

This is easily a full weekend for a family of four (or four friends)! Add in some of the other wonderful attractions around Chattanooga and you could stretch this out as long as you like. Downtown Chattanooga is one of the most family friendly cities I’ve ever been to and is sure to be a vacation to remember.

Disclaimer: I was not financially compensated for this post and the tickets are being provided courtesy of Rock City, which truly is one of the most beautiful places on the planet and I think you should all go there. More disclaimers in my life include my dislike of raw tomatoes but my love of them in any other form, and no matter how many times I visit Spanish speaking countries, I still manage to leave only knowing how to count to three.

  1. I would love for my little granddaughters to be able to go visit Rock City!!!!

  2. I’ve lived somewhat close to Rock City all my life but have never had the opportunity to go see the beauty that Rock City presents. If I won I could take my little niece, who would love the opportunity! I’ve seen the barns for years and am so glad that you’ve kept them. It’s such a part of the South!!!

  3. This would be great. Driven by the exit sign so many times, on the way to Smoky’s, but never experienced Rock City.
