Southern Plate Cookbook Update!
This sign was sent to be yesterday by Andrew Malcolm to congratulate me on finishing the book. It was made online but BOY did it make my day with a round of giggles!
This morning I turned in the manuscript for the Southern Plate Cookbook which is being published by Harper Studios, a division of Harper Collins. The book is a combination of stories, classic Southern recipes, and some of the most gorgeous photos of Southern food I’ve ever seen. I have worked with an amazing team in putting this book together and I am just about to burst with excitement because I want you to see it so badly!
This is YOUR Cookbook, put together by using your input on what you wanted to see, what recipes you cherished most, and what recipes have been lost that you want most to reclaim for your family. I did include some of the most popular ones on Southern Plate but also made sure to add several exclusive good old fashioned recipes as well – the ones I’ve been asked for the most since starting Southern Plate. I feel just like a child whose colored you a picture and can’t wait for you to get home so I can present it to you! Thank you SO MUCH for giving me this opportunity and for helping me to write this book.
It will be available for pre-order this summer and will be in all major bookstores by the fall. I have one more wish, to make the dream come true for me, I’d sure love to get to meet you! I hope to see you at a book signing once it’s out. I’ll post my schedule as soon as it’s finalized. If you’re a member of the Southern Plate Family, I owe you a hug!
*Note: My self published cookbook is no longer available. Thank you to everyone who purchased it and everyone who has been kind enough to ask if there are any more. I sure do appreciate it and feel confident that you’ll enjoy my new book even more!
I’d love to hear your comments and suggestions for where book signings should be held in the comments below!
Gratefully,
Christy 🙂

one has learned for oneself.

Hows exciting for you. And most of the suggestions are from the South. Please don’t forget us Northerners. We love Southern cooking too. How about Adrian Michigan or I am an hour from Toledo Ohio, an hour from Ann Arbor Michigan or an hour from Jackson Michigan.. Oh and if you like Nascar your can come to Brooklyn, Michigan a hop skip and jump from Michigan International Speedway. I am within hearing distance of the track.
I agree with coming to Michigan. I live a couple hours from Ann Arbor, near Midland.
However, I’m moving to Orange County, California this summer. So I vote for either!
I lived in the South when I was a very little girl and haven’t been back since. I’ve lived in Silicon Valley since I was six and enjoy the diversity we have here. Reading your stories and trying your recipes just adds something extra to the fast paced life here…it slows me and my young family down. Please let me know if you make it out to California….I’ll make sure to bring my foodie friends to meet you!
Blessings,
Paula
Christy you know you gotta come down here to Perth! 😉
Congrats on the book! Can’t wait to get one.How about a stop in Southern IL..Would love to meet you.
Woohoo, I agree!!
Come down to the beach!!! There’s a Books-a-Million in Gulf Shores now and that would be a perfect place for you to meet all your LA (lower Alabama) fans!!! Your family would love to visit the beach, too.
We love you down here, Christie!!! Congratulations on your new cookbook! I’m looking forward to meeting you!!!
Love ya,
Mignon
I hope you come to Frederick Md !!! We might not be as far south as you, but we are south of the Mason-Dixon!! 🙂 Plus, we are right in between Baltimore and Washington. So if you come to Frederick, you could take the kids to BOTH of those cities to sight see !!! Can’t wait for the book to come out!!
I agree with Kelli O! Come to Maryland! I live in Salisbury on the “Good ole’ Eastern Shore”. We are southern cooks just as much as those in the deep south! I just found this website and am in love with it! My biggest regret is that I didn’t get a chance to get your first cookbook, but you can bet your butt that I will get this one!
How about good ole Illinois. Just kidding, know I cant make any book signings but will definitely be buying the book. I love cookbooks. I cant wait to get my hands on one of yours.
