Southern Plate Cookbook Update!

csg-sign05

This sign was sent to be yesterday by Andrew Malcolm to congratulate me on finishing the book. It was made online but BOY did it make my day with a round of giggles!

This morning I turned in the manuscript for the Southern Plate Cookbook which is being published by Harper Studios, a division of Harper Collins. The book is a combination of stories, classic Southern recipes, and some of the most gorgeous photos of Southern food I’ve ever seen. I have worked with an amazing team in putting this book together and I am just about to burst with excitement because I want you to see it so badly!

This is YOUR Cookbook, put together by using your input on what you wanted to see, what recipes you cherished most, and what recipes have been lost that you want most to reclaim for your family. I did include some of the most popular ones on Southern Plate but also made sure to add several exclusive good old fashioned recipes as well – the ones I’ve been asked for the most since starting Southern Plate. I feel just like a child whose colored you a picture and can’t wait for you to get home so I can present it to you! Thank you SO MUCH for giving me this opportunity and for helping me to write this book.

It will be available for pre-order this summer and will be in all major bookstores by the fall. I have one more wish, to make the dream come true for me, I’d sure love to get to meet you! I hope to see you at a book signing once it’s out. I’ll post my schedule as soon as it’s finalized. If you’re a member of the Southern Plate Family, I owe you a hug!

*Note: My self published cookbook is no longer available. Thank you to everyone who purchased it and everyone who has been kind enough to ask if there are any more. I sure do appreciate it and feel confident that you’ll enjoy my new book even more!

I’d love to hear your comments and suggestions for where book signings should be held in the comments below!

Gratefully,

Christy 🙂

  1. My goodness Christy! You have a whole bunch of comments for this. The 2 largest towns near me are Monroe, La. and Alexandria, La. I know there is a Books-A-Million on both cities and in Monroe there is this little book store that has done book signings before it’s called Window’s a Bookshop. Hopefully it can make it this way! Love ya girl! God Bless you!

    1. Christy, I went to Window’s a Bookshop website and they are closed. I didn’t know that. Maybe your publishers can find a place near me anyway! Maybe my town library!…~giggles~ Just wanted to correct my info above.

  2. Girl, you know your first “stop ” has to be somewhere between Rogersville and Madison. You know, let the hometown folks be your first group and all that. I’m sure it would be a hit! Too bad your brother’s restaurant isn’t bigger. Then I would suggest having it there. You know, so we can all eat some of his good barbecue(the ability to cook must run in the family) while we meet you and talk about your good food. Except then everyone would have slaw stuck in their teeth. 🙂 Just make sure I’m off work or can get off before you plan it, so I can be there. I definately don’t want to miss this! And be sure to let the News Courier know, so I know when it is, just in case I miss the email. 🙂

  3. Congratulations on a job well done! I made your buttermilk biscuits on Sunday and my family loved them…along with every other recipe I have tried. Just don’t forget to have a local book-signing. I am looking forward to meeting you and getting your new cookbook.

  4. Ooh, please come to Lakeland FL!!! We’re in central Florida right smack in between Tampa & Orlando. Can’t wait to get your book & hopefully meet ya soon!!!!……

  5. Congratulations, Christy. You’ll be well traveled (and plum tuckered out) if you make even ten percent of these stops, but I’ll bet that it’s great to know how many folks want to meet you and pick up a copy of the new book. Please plan lots of posts before you hit the road?
