Southern Plate Cookbook Update!

csg-sign05

This sign was sent to be yesterday by Andrew Malcolm to congratulate me on finishing the book. It was made online but BOY did it make my day with a round of giggles!

This morning I turned in the manuscript for the Southern Plate Cookbook which is being published by Harper Studios, a division of Harper Collins. The book is a combination of stories, classic Southern recipes, and some of the most gorgeous photos of Southern food I’ve ever seen. I have worked with an amazing team in putting this book together and I am just about to burst with excitement because I want you to see it so badly!

This is YOUR Cookbook, put together by using your input on what you wanted to see, what recipes you cherished most, and what recipes have been lost that you want most to reclaim for your family. I did include some of the most popular ones on Southern Plate but also made sure to add several exclusive good old fashioned recipes as well – the ones I’ve been asked for the most since starting Southern Plate. I feel just like a child whose colored you a picture and can’t wait for you to get home so I can present it to you! Thank you SO MUCH for giving me this opportunity and for helping me to write this book.

It will be available for pre-order this summer and will be in all major bookstores by the fall. I have one more wish, to make the dream come true for me, I’d sure love to get to meet you! I hope to see you at a book signing once it’s out. I’ll post my schedule as soon as it’s finalized. If you’re a member of the Southern Plate Family, I owe you a hug!

*Note: My self published cookbook is no longer available. Thank you to everyone who purchased it and everyone who has been kind enough to ask if there are any more. I sure do appreciate it and feel confident that you’ll enjoy my new book even more!

I’d love to hear your comments and suggestions for where book signings should be held in the comments below!

Gratefully,

Christy 🙂

  1. How about Montgomery Alabama? You could take the I-65 road trip and stop in Huntsville, Birmingham, Montgomery, and then on down to Gulf Shores. That would cover meeting alot of us and you’d see Alabama the beautiful from top to bottom and get to visit the beach for a break after all that hard work! Best wishes! Kathy

  2. Just another plea – North Carolina – the Raleigh/Durham/Chapel Hill and Burlington/Graham area (home of Jeanne Robertson – Flat Out Funny).

Thank you for all the work you’ve put into this website and the book – I plan to buy copies for my 3 daughters, my Mom, my Sister and my Sisters-in-Christ for Christmas 2010…would love to have you sign them but either with or without the signature my family is gonna LOVE THE COOKBOOK!!

I look forward to opening your site everyday for a hunt for something different to try. We had a huge snowstorm last weekend and my family was blessed with a Chocolate Cobbler – I posted it on FaceBook and friends wanted to know “What? where?” It was GOOOOOD!!! We loved the cakie part and the gooey part!! Bless you and your Momma! Sue Horne in Rougemont, NC

  3. Can’t wait to get this for my daughters and sisters!! Hope to see you in South Carolina!!! Best Wishes to you and your family!!

  4. Okay, I know this is a long shot, but here goes … PLEASE come to Toronto, Canada!

You could make it a mini-vacay! We’ve got Niagara Falls 1.5 hours away, hippo tour buses that go from the streets to Lake Ontario, beautiful fall colours, different kinds of poutine for you to try, a revolving restaurant, Paramount’s Wonderland, the longest street in the world, and the most polite people ever. You will be so welcomed here!

Also, scientific research has shown that lack of sunshine often causes Seasonal Affective Disorder (SAD), and Multiple Sclerosis. Since everyone knows that Christy = sunshine, it’s really a public service that you’d be doing for Canadians.

    Please come!!

Congrats on the spankin new book. I’m so excited to get a copy and see YOU, the Mary Poppins food and to read more of your lovely stories.

    Take care from Toronto!
