Southern Plate Cookbook Update!

csg-sign05

This sign was sent to be yesterday by Andrew Malcolm to congratulate me on finishing the book. It was made online but BOY did it make my day with a round of giggles!

This morning I turned in the manuscript for the Southern Plate Cookbook which is being published by Harper Studios, a division of Harper Collins. The book is a combination of stories, classic Southern recipes, and some of the most gorgeous photos of Southern food I’ve ever seen. I have worked with an amazing team in putting this book together and I am just about to burst with excitement because I want you to see it so badly!

This is YOUR Cookbook, put together by using your input on what you wanted to see, what recipes you cherished most, and what recipes have been lost that you want most to reclaim for your family. I did include some of the most popular ones on Southern Plate but also made sure to add several exclusive good old fashioned recipes as well – the ones I’ve been asked for the most since starting Southern Plate. I feel just like a child whose colored you a picture and can’t wait for you to get home so I can present it to you! Thank you SO MUCH for giving me this opportunity and for helping me to write this book.

It will be available for pre-order this summer and will be in all major bookstores by the fall. I have one more wish, to make the dream come true for me, I’d sure love to get to meet you! I hope to see you at a book signing once it’s out. I’ll post my schedule as soon as it’s finalized. If you’re a member of the Southern Plate Family, I owe you a hug!

*Note: My self published cookbook is no longer available. Thank you to everyone who purchased it and everyone who has been kind enough to ask if there are any more. I sure do appreciate it and feel confident that you’ll enjoy my new book even more!

I’d love to hear your comments and suggestions for where book signings should be held in the comments below!

Gratefully,

Christy 🙂

  1. Well are you pinching yourself to make sure you’re not dreaming? Talk about a dream coming true for you!! A BIGGGGG CONGRATS on what you have accomplished in such a short time. I am trilled for you. Your recipes ROCK!!!

Just down the road a piece from you is a Books-A-Million in Florence, AL. You’d cover the entire Shoals area, all of northwest Alabama, southern Tennessee and eastern Mississippi. Talk about killing a flock of birds with one stone!

Can’t wait to get your book and meet you. By the way, the Joe Muggs Cafe inside B-A-M makes a mean cup a jo. Love my Caramel Machiatos (YUM).

  2. oh Christy- we all would love to meet you- how about a book signing at the Barnes and Noble – Center Valley PA Promenade Shops?? or King OF Prussia Mall??? that’s in Philly…I live in Macungie PA about 5 miles south of Allentown PA…come on up…and stay a while…my house is open to you!! with Northern Hospitality!!

    Robin:-)

  3. please come to the suburan chicago area!! not downtown chicago. there is an independent bookseller-anderson’s- in naperville. also ,there are plenty of barnes and noble and border’s bookstore’s.
please don’t forget us displaced southerner’s because we live in yankee land. my momma and daddy and all their people are from about as far into southeastern kentucky as you can be before you are a virginian!! please come north if only for a little while!

  4. Waco, Texas would welcome you with open arms! Congrats on finishing the cookbook. It’s one that will most *definitely* be added to my collection 🙂

    1. I could make it up to Austin to see you! If you could come to New Braunfels that would even be better, but I’d go to Austin or San Antonio if you made it to either of those places. Heck, maybe even Houston and visit my parents on the way!

      1. In Austin TX, the bookstores named Book People (603 N. Lamar, Austin 78703, 512-472-5050) and Book Woman (5501 N. Lamar, Austin 78751, 512-472-2785) regularly host book signings and favor not-the-run-of-the-mill authors.

There are also regular book signings at the various locations of Half-Price Books in the Austin area, including the newest one in Cedar Park, just northwest of Austin (and closest to me) in the 1890 Ranch Shopping Center, 1335 E. Whitestone Blvd., Cedar Park 78613, 512-259-2851.

Come on down! We’d purely love to see you – and central Texans buy LOTS and LOTS of books! Give me a few weeks’ heads-up and we’ll corral all the Scouts to come see you too!

  5. We cooks of south Alabama would love for you to come to Mobile.
I am so very excited and cannot wait until your cookbook is out.
