Southern Plate Cookbook Update!
This sign was sent to be yesterday by Andrew Malcolm to congratulate me on finishing the book. It was made online but BOY did it make my day with a round of giggles!
This morning I turned in the manuscript for the Southern Plate Cookbook which is being published by Harper Studios, a division of Harper Collins. The book is a combination of stories, classic Southern recipes, and some of the most gorgeous photos of Southern food I’ve ever seen. I have worked with an amazing team in putting this book together and I am just about to burst with excitement because I want you to see it so badly!
This is YOUR Cookbook, put together by using your input on what you wanted to see, what recipes you cherished most, and what recipes have been lost that you want most to reclaim for your family. I did include some of the most popular ones on Southern Plate but also made sure to add several exclusive good old fashioned recipes as well – the ones I’ve been asked for the most since starting Southern Plate. I feel just like a child whose colored you a picture and can’t wait for you to get home so I can present it to you! Thank you SO MUCH for giving me this opportunity and for helping me to write this book.
It will be available for pre-order this summer and will be in all major bookstores by the fall. I have one more wish, to make the dream come true for me, I’d sure love to get to meet you! I hope to see you at a book signing once it’s out. I’ll post my schedule as soon as it’s finalized. If you’re a member of the Southern Plate Family, I owe you a hug!

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE come to Greenville, South Carolina!! I saw at least one other request for Greenville on my scroll down to the comment box:) We would SO love to have you come see us! And a little birdie told me you’ve never been to South Carolina. So you really need to take this opportunity to meet some South Carolinians, enjoy the hospitality and enjoy the scenery. South Carolina is a wonderful place. Just below Asheville, NC and I’m sure those folks would love to have you stop there too on your way down from Tennessee! So see, I’ve got it all figured out for you!
I have to admit, I just found your site a couple of months ago but I was sold after my first visit. I hope you do get to visit us here in S.C. But either way, I’m buying the book!
Hi – Congrats on the book!! I look so forward to purchasing your book. Would love to see you in the central Texas area. I think Fort Hood, Texas would be a wonderful place. This is an area that has people from every corner of the US. You would also have the opportunity to meet and greet the awesome soldiers and their families that are serving our great country. I look forward to purchasing 4 books for my 2 daughters and my daughter-in-law and of course ME. I might just have to get one for each of my 2 granddaughters to put away for later :). Pam

I felt I needed to echo what so many others have said… PLZ remember us hometown neighbors! 🙂 We met in the Publix in Athens, AL, so I think you might live close? Regardless, PLZ have a book signing here in Athens – or if we’re not neighbors… Madison or Huntsville would still be great! Or maybe you could do Athens, since it’s on the interstate and people could travel here easily? And then ALSO have a book signing in Madison or H’ville?! 🙂
