1. Hey Christy,

   I joined up for the e-mail news, but have not had any as of today. I hope I did it right. I am not very good at this computer thing yet, but I am trying to learn. I love to read recipes and I love to cook. That is about all I get to do since I have been recovering from leg surgery for the last couple of months. I googled for a chicken & dumpling recipe and your site came up. I LOVE IT!!!!!!! And the family loved the chicken & dumplings!!!!!! My favorite thing to do is bake any kind of sweets. I try stuff out on my family all the time. Sometimes things don’t turn out. I have made quite a few of you recipes already. I would love to win a prize. I am going to get the cookbook as soon as I get enough money. I have had no income since my surgery and my husband has been on short time at his job since Christmas, but I hope the new year will bring us new things.

      I just wanted to pop in and let you know that its likely not you on the email news, its me!
      Katy has the croup and they’ve both been sick off and on all week. I’m running around like a one legged man in a….well you know what I mean ~grins~

      Bear with me, its a comin’! I give posting my first priority (getting new recipes up) and when the kids need me a bit more than usual my personal emails get moved down on the priority list.
      In the meantime, WELCOME TO SOUTHERN PLATE!! Its great to have you here and I hope to keep you in recipes for years to come!!!

5. Hello, A few days ago, I accidentally placed my message out of order, at the top of the page! This was my first visit to your site and my first post, so pardon my error. I’ll repeat it here, just in case you never read it. I’ve added a few things….like a good cook!

   One of my daughters told me about your site and I am thrilled with the recipes. I am a native Texan and you can’t get much more Southern than that! My married daughter made the Chicken Stew for her family last night and said it was wonderful. My little 4 yr old grandson said it was the best thing he had ever eaten!! He ate two big bowl fulls. I am making it tonight and I can almost taste it now. I have ordered your cookbook and look forward to it arriving!

   I would love to win the coffee maker and coffee grinder, or any of the great prizes! I assume I will find out how to enter when the time comes. It’s nice of you to offer prizes for your readers.
   Being Southern, I so identify with the things you say! This morning I laughed over your football confession – quite funny!
   My husband and I went to UT – need I say more? He is big on football. At least I know what they are doing on the field, which is more than I knew when we married in 1970!

      Don’t you worry about placing anything out of order. We’re all neighbors here and there really is no right or wrong way to do anything on Southern Plate! lol
      If there was, I’d have to bow out myself! WOW, your four year old loved chicken stew! I have a four year old myself and so I know what a HUGE deal that is!! Thank you for the ultimate compliment to one of my recipes: A four year old ate it!! Mine is still in her chicken nugget/mac and cheese/yogurt phase!

      I want to belatedly welcome you to Southern Plate!!! I do try to respond to as many comments as possible. This week has been difficult with both of my kids sick off and on (we are waiting on the doctor’s office to open now so I can see if I can get Katy in today) but each reader I have means so much to me and I try my best to let them know that. You are such a wonderfully welcome addition and please thank your daughter for me for passing the word on!!

      Sit back, get comfy, and stay a while. I know you’ll enjoy getting to know the other readers too, we have a great community springing up around here! Every day I wake up and get to read what y’all write or get to cook something or post another tutorial, its like winning the lottery for me. I just can’t believe I get to do this and have people kind enough to read my ramblings!! oh I am rambling again, aren’t I?

      My sister in law is a big Tennessee fan, too! I guess you and me can just hang out in the kitchen!

7. I just discovered your website a few days ago! I’m a fellow southern girl from Georgia. Your recipes are great. Few ingredients with lots of taste and the most important ingredient in Southern cooking…LOVE!

   I’m a couple pounds over “loved” right now…hahaha!

   I’ve already tried several crock pot recipes and they have been a hit with my family…Thank You!
