This was wonderful Christy! Thank you for sharing your struggle and for giving others hope. I will be pinning this podcast in hope that someone who really needs to hear your words will come away from this with the knowledge that they can overcome. BTW, love the picture you painted in my mind of the two paths 🙂
Thank you Missy!
Dear Christy,
From the bottom of my heart, I thank you for sharing this. God bless you sweet Christy for sharing your journey to joy and finding hope again!! You are such an inspiration to me. You can not hold my hand, but you sure did touch my heart!! Love you dear friend, Pam
Thank you Pam, I am so blessed by each of you and am grateful for the opportunity to be a blessing in return!
Thx Christy for this post. I am a pastor’s wife & I have been struggling with this issue. There are several contributing factors which I have no control over. Depression is exhausting -physically & mentally. I believe the Lord brought this my way today to encourage me (as many of your posts do!) May the blessings of the Lord chase after you!
I pray that you will find some light Deborah!!! Blessings to you and your family!
Christy, your story of depression is something that all women need to hear. I know exactly what you went through and I had “friends” telling me stuff that only created despair. It is important to never prescribe what to do when someone is in deep depression. The best thing to do is to give the person HOPe that this will pass, even if not quickly. Pray for that person and be there for her whenever she needs you. Never tell that person that there is no hope. It is painful and like you said it is a pit that you climb out of with Gods help! Thank you and God bless.
Christy,
Thank you so much for this! I need to share it with my mom. When I downloaded it, the title was “Part 4”. Is there more to this series? If so, how do I get the other parts?
Thanks!
Christy, thank you so much for e-mailing this link out today. I can’t tell you how grateful I am for your willingness to honestly and openly share your struggles with this disease. I have a college age teenage daughter that appears to be on the same path that you have previously traveled, and I have forwarded her this link. I am praying that your words of encouragement and advice will hit home with her and she too will take control of her life to turn things around. As awful as her depression has been and as much as she verbalizes how bad she feels, it seems as if she gets an odd sense of comfort being in that state. Professionals and medication only take care of part of the problem, the rest is up to her. It is one of the most frustrating things for a mom, knowing I can offer no fix to the problem….as the fix only comes from within and with God. I have encouraged her on several occasions to refrain from viewing the negative stuff she is constantly exposing herself to via the media/social media. Hopefully, coming from someone who has been there, she will be more receptive to the idea. Thanks again.
I just Luv your stuff, Christy, and your profile pic. You ard a true blonde, cause I fond see any dark roots!
Now some serious stuff. You and Southern Plate blessed and inspires me!
Thanks
Jim
