Why you should never ask an engineer how big your pantry is…

It was an innocent request, honest. I just wondered what the measurements of my pantry were. I had asked my husband a few times and he kept forgetting so before I headed off to bed I shot him a quick email because I knew he’d be working on his computer later and see it.

I woke up this morning to find this in my inbox…

  1. I’m married to an engineer… if I show him that he won’t see the humor. He will just say “that’s how it’s supposed to be done!”

  2. LOL, my laugh for the day. My hubbys not an engineer, but he does woodworking and by the looks of this he could have been, so this is the reason I really hate for him to have to hang anything on the wall for me, it takes forever. Gotta love em !! good luck with the pantry, my advice, get out the measuring tape when he’s not home and measure away.

  3. My late husband was an engineer. Trouble is… he trained me and I’m just as bad now. I draw EVERYTHING out before doing it. Made most of my own kitchen shelves and windowsills. He just has better software than me.

  4. Ask an engineer for the time of day, they will tell you how to build a watch. 8-). BTW, thanks for the drawing. I am going to use it to put new shelves in our pantry.
