WIN a trip to the Dominican Republic With Me and OCC!
Wanna join me? Wanna HAND DELIVER your Operation Christmas Child Shoebox in the Dominican Republic?
Watch the video below or read this post to see how you can enter for a chance to do just that!
Earlier this year, I shared my journey with you as I traveled with Operation Christmas Child to hand deliver shoeboxes to children in need in Ecuador. I felt like you were with me on that journey and I am so grateful for your prayers and your ears as you let me share my experience with you. Seeing firsthand what a difference a simple shoebox packed with love can make in the life of a child changed me forever. Kids crying with joy over receiving small toys, pencils, even counting a toothbrush as their most prized posession, Â opens your eyes to an entirely different part of our world.
These things changed me, but they also changed the children and that is thanks to people like you who took the time to pack a shoebox.
This year marks the 100 millionth shoebox that OCC has delivered to children all over the world and to commemorate this very special year, I’m teaming up with Operation Christmas Child to go on another invitation only distribution trip to the Dominican Republic, but guess what?
OCC is going to choose one of YOU to go with me!
One of you will get to join me on this life changing trip and HAND DELIVER your shoebox!

Great opportunity and a great program 🙂 Good Luck to all who enter for sharing in a wonderful experience!
Christy,
I am going to put together the best box :-). I am going to include my two young boys in the project. They need to understand there are people in our world less fortunate than us. We are not rich, but in another’s eyes we have everything. Can we make more than one shoebox? It would be nice if each of the boys did their own.
Missing you,
Tammie
Can you do a video as well as a photo for the entry?
sure! I’d just upload it to Youtube and include the link in the email you send me. Can’t wait to see it!
I would love to win this but I will still get the blessing from filling several boxes .I have gotten very interested in visiting Guatemala .My granddaughter visited last year with a church and said her life would never be the same .My church has two trips a year that have Medical people to treat their health problems and other professionals that go to minister to the people .The people that want to go can see what you think you are capable of doing .Has to be planned way ahead .We had a missionary come and speak at our church .He and his family are from Guatemala they decided to live there after completing a college eduation .He has been helping the people for eight years .Video’s were shared with us .Some children had shoes on that were so big and worn out .A lot of the people had to walk 20 miles to the town where the people come in that help them .I thought of how different for my grandchildren how we take a lot for granted .He told us that we just don’t know how blessed we are to live in our beautiful country .We need to be so thankful and be willing to help .Didn’t mean to share so much .God bless each of you !
Our church has always used the plastic DG shoeboxes, but this year we purchased boxes from Samaritan’s Purse. One of our members went to the distribution center to help last year and saw that the different size boxes made packing difficult. Our boxes are all the same size, suggested by Samaritans Purse…they include a list of suggested items, items that you do not need to send, a label for the age boy or girl….all you need to do is fill the box, close the attached lid and tape the label on the top…we then wrap a rubber band around the box and it is ready to go….we have met our goal of 200 boxes. The boxes are red and green and look like gift. Our church also budgets the shipping costs for each box in each year’s church budget. I would not be able to make the trip, but am happy to take part in this yearly project at my church…God bless all who participate!
what a blessing it would be to go and bless others 🙂
What an amazing opportunity! I vote for Meridith since I can’t go that time of the year! It sounds like such a wonderful time to be had by all.
;D)
That is so sweet of you to say! My daughter and I are working on our box!
