Creamy Chicken Skillet
Creamy Chicken Skillet is one of my favorite meals in one! With the help of ranch dressing mix, it’s seasoned perfectly and bursting with flavor.
Add in some frozen mixed veggies and egg noodles and you’ll be sitting down to a family pleasing supper in no time flat.
For Cream Chicken Skillet you’ll need:
- Chicken breasts
- One can of cream of chicken soup*
- A package of ranch dressing mix (dry)
- One bag of frozen vegetable blend (your choice)
- Egg noodles
- You’re also going to need a little bit of milk, just 1/2 a cup.
*If you prefer to make your own cream of chicken soup, just click here for my recipe.
- Place a little bit of oil in the bottom of your skillet and heat over medium heat.
- Add your chicken breasts and cook over medium heat, turning as needed, until lightly browned on both sides.
- Once your chicken breasts are browned on both sides, add in the cream of chicken soup, dry ranch dressing mix…
- Add the milk.
- Stir that up as best you can.
Note: Your chicken breasts won’t be done at this point, just browned on the outside. That is okay because we’re fixin’ to finish cooking them.
This is our chicken with our little sauce we made all stirred up.
- Now cover and reduce heat to simmer for about ten minutes, or until chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center.
- After about ten minutes of simmering this is what you’ll have.
That sauce is absolutely delicious and we’re about to toss some veggies into it to make it even better.
I like the California blend of veggies that has carrots, cauliflower, and broccoli in it but you can go with whatever you like here.
- Pour your frozen vegetables into the skillet and stir them up a bit to coat them.
- Continue cooking this whole shebang until the veggies are tender.
Salt and pepper to taste if you like, but I like it just as it is.
Voila! Cream Chicken Skillet is done 🙂
The ranch dressing mix gives it a fantastic, well seasoned flavor and the cream soup and milk join in to make a delicious gravy, perfect for serving over cooked egg noodles.
Enjoy!

This recipe looks so good! We will have to try it. My daughter loves chicken, cream of chicken soup and ranch dressing. I do believe she will love this. While you were talk’n about not having a real tree, it made me remember the first Christmas my husband & I were married. He wanted to do the man thing so he went out to his daddy’s land and picked out a beautiful cedar (I think) tree. He brought it into our house. Back then we lived in an old house with 13 ft ceiling. The tree was taller than the ceiling so my redneck hubby layed the tree across the couch and got his chain saw. He then sawed the bottom of the tree while it was still laying on our couch right in the living room! I could not believe what I was seeing! I just thought “Oh Lord, what have I got myself into.” We were only married for about month and half. We finally got the tree up and it looked great. Well…..later during the middle of the night we woke up to a big “WHOOSH!” sound. We both jumped out of bed and there was our Christmas tree laying on the floor. We had an old hardwood floor at that time and it was covered in water. While we were cleaning up the mess, I told him, “I don’t think we need any more real Christmas trees in the future.” He agreed. That was 20 years ago and we still get a hoot out of that story. And oh yes…..we have never had a real tree since. :o)
This looks so good. I can hardly stand to put up Christmas till Thanksgiving is over, but….I have more than 40 Snow Village pieces, and it takes me forever to empty all the bookcases in the living area plus clearing all the tops of furniture. So, our daughter and I are going to start with my Village pieces on Thanksgiving Day and then do her apartment on Saturday. I’m thankful for her!!!
ok, it is my lunch time and now I am super hungry! That looks so dang tasty!
I do this same recipe in the crockpot but I use an 8 oz. cream cheese in place of the milk.
yummmmmm
I am low maintenance( ok maybe I’m a little lazy) but I hate having to pick up tree needles every day so it’s faux for me too:)
However there’s nothing fake about this easy chicken dish…. Love fixing this when I’ be been busy
This chicken with ranch dressing, mushroom soup and vegs sounds great. will try it tonight! I make almost the same recipe, except I use “Golden Mushroom soup” water and a can of mushrooms… Makes a delicious gravy! Great over mashed potatoes. Love all your southern dishes, GREAT ideas… I visit your page regularly! Thanks Christy 😉
Made your faux pecan pie and carried it to a church dinner. Brought home an empty pie plate. ‘Nough said.’ As I expected it was delicious! You’re a step ahead of me with your christmas decorations up, but good for you. Hope you and family have happy holidays.
